Mudge's Poetry Dump
Now, when I say "dump", I'm not implying that anything I put here will be garbage . . . although the large portion of it might be.
It's just that I've had a few spasms of doggeral running around all higgledy-piggledy in my brain.
So feel free to rummage, read, comment, enjoy, vomit, whatever . . . but most of this will be unfinished stuff.

Who once were a couple
But now stand apart
Amid all the shrapnel
And pieces of heart
Too late to interpret
Let alone make amends
You can't be a diplomat
Torn between friends
But now stand apart
Amid all the shrapnel
And pieces of heart
Too late to interpret
Let alone make amends
You can't be a diplomat
Torn between friends

I'm all for anything that gets the term higgledy-piggledy used.

Wow, that poem. Pretty dang awesome, if I say so myself. Which I do. So there. Haha.
It took me a few tries to get it, but then I realized the meaning of it sooner or later... Lol. That's some excellent doggeral. Lol.

Life is a parchment that no matter how many times you blot ink on it, you can't bring yourself to crumple it.

Thanks. I've decided my muse hangs out in cheap hotels in Chattanooga . . .

Be still my heart! I have the smelling salts handy in case I'm overcome.
But we're finally getting a little poetic action out of the Mudge. Doggerel or Catterel, I don't care. Just post it. (So we can tear it apart, heehee.)
Nice opener, Mudge!

Nice opener, Mudge!

Decades of lonely
A drive to believe
Logic and intellect
Grant no reprieve
Cursing the candle
You burned at both ends
Who gets the extinguisher?

Why do friends make you choose? If you are a friend, you don't cut off one or the other, just because they agree to disagree.

You know how it is, Mlou . . . they're SAYING I don't have to choose . . . but I still feel torn.

Actually, that image has a LOT of meanings, in this case.

I told you not to mention MS and my breakup here on the boards... can't you follow directions??
Good grief... of course I'm kidding! We've been friends since 8th grade... but alas... never lovers.

You could've left me boldly
In the middle of a fight
In the middle of a restaurant
On a crowded Friday night
You could've left me shyly
In a letter or by phone
But you could not leave me any more alone
You could've left me humble
My head bowed down in shame
You could've left me sorry
That you ever took my name
You could've left The Hero
With some act I could condone
But you could not leave me any more alone
You could've left me public
Take an ad out in the press
Get your picture in the tabloids
Like a maiden in distress
You could've made it secret
So I never would've known
But you could not leave me any more alone
Did you leave for jealous longing?
Did you leave for wounded pride?
Could you not outrun the shadows
That have lived here since we died?
A thousand ways and reasons
But it still just means you're gone
And you could not leave me any more alone
You could not have left me any more alone.

Mudge is often touching... and it usually gets him in trouble with the missus (where's my groucho marx smiley?)

Great job! Just hope it's not based on real life.
