Hey, Again

Hey All,

I guess this is more of a re-introduction as I was here before. I was even in a writing group for a while, but then the wife got pregnant and everything kind of got pushed aside while we got ready. But now my daughter's here and my school year is over on Friday so I'm jumping back into all my writing stuff. Even started a blog

As you probably guessed, I'm a teacher. I spend my days trying to get high school sophomores and seniors to appreciate good writing. And, usually failing miserably. So now I'm hoping to spend my summer actually producing some good (hopefully) writing to get myself back on track.

Other details to know (there aren't many) - I write fiction, I've started roughly five novels, never finished any, I've got a Master's in Creative Writing (which got me my teaching gig but not much else) and I'm trying to work myself out of the habit of over editing and rewriting everything (which is why I never finish anything).

Guess that's about it. Hope to see everybody out and about on the boards.

you feel old? 75 was the year I was born. And I got the Kotter reference.

i was born in 77 and got the reference. never even watched the show and i got it.

I actually used to watch it in syndication when I was (much) younger. Had no idea, at the time, it was from the 70s. Thought it was still on. Given some of the crap they put on now, maybe it should be

Nice to meet you, redhawk. Even though you made me feel ancient ... 1975 was the year I finished high school.

Congrats on the birth of your daughter. Daughters are wonderful people and fun to dress.

I too suffer from terminal editing and have not yet found a solution, though deadlines help. If I find a submission deadline of some sort it helps push me towards "finishing" a piece, although there's always a later deadline somewhere in the distance.

75 or thereabouts? Oh, you are all such BABIES! I'm not even going to mention the year I graduated but it was in the dark ages. I actually remember a girl in grammar school who was driven there daily in a HORSE AND BUGGY! I kid you not! But, hey, I'm holding up wonderfully in my decrepitude...and still turning out stuff for publication.
And to get to you , ragingred, Yeah, I remember you. Let's see you really get something going there, huh? Try the challenges for starters. They might lead you on to something further.
