Begging for submissions

Postby timberline » Fri Mar 25, 2016 12:04 pm

Don't know where I discovered CommuterLit, an online story-a-day magazine run out of Toronto, but I've published five stories there since last summer. They have a high 63% acceptance rate, and a feed to your in-box. This makes it "low hanging fruit" to pick. But newbies might take a look at it. More at http://commuterlit.com/.

Latest to go up is a poignant piece, “Waiting for the Snow” published by CommuterLit Feb. 16, at http://commuterlit.com/2016/02/tuesday- ... w-to-fall/.

Guess CommuterLit needs more exposure and submissions because they recently took these two from me:

> “The Crows Stole My Heart” was published by CommuterLit April 14, at http://commuterlit.com/2016/04/thursday ... -my-heart/

> “Losing It at the Border” was published by CommuterLit Mar. 29, at http://commuterlit.com/2016/03/tuesday- ... he-border/

They're closed for the summer, Dee, but they'll be back for submissions in September.

I'm thinking I must be closed for the summer because getting myself to my computer seems like more of a chore than... well... my chores. :)

Another very accepting market in The Story Shack. Flash stories aren't vetted as well as they should be, but it accepts many genres including humor. (I've posted three under my own name and four with a pen name.) Martin Hooijmans is founder/editor/publisher who marries the story to an original piece of art. Try it out at https://thestoryshack.com/.

BTW, I had "Inside Lookin' Out" accepted here (under the pen name) and never got back to mention its acceptance at The Story Shack Apr. 19, 2013, at http://thestoryshack.com/2013/04/19/ins ... e-s-young/. I found that thread here at FFF is locked. How come?
