Bibliophile_Sk8erGal wrote:xcheck24: btw, you are wrong. I know loads of people who listen to those bands. Even heavy metal fans. Linkin park, good charlotte, the killers and seether aren't soft at all.

Are you even a rock fan to judge?

Uh, yes I am. In fact, I would listen to many of the bands on your list (foo fighters, chili peppers, the clash, green day, etc.), and for the reasons Charles listed I don't think they qualify. The bands above, for example, are NOT heavy metal bands. Listen to Slayer. THAT is the kind of heavy metal band Lyric is looking for. The people I'm talking about don't listen to mainstream rock or pop. They listen to Slayer and all sorts of bands I've never even heard of (and I used to be into stuff that heavy).

Slayer's the only band I've heard of from the list. I need to see if my brother has any of these bands' albums. I occassionally can appreciate heavy metal.

This band's slightly mainstream, but what about Korn? They've got some great stuff.

guys, read a little more carefully here:

angry, racist, misogynistic protagonist

I think that I am thinking heavy metal.

He seems to be what I think is called a head-banger

Lyric said "rock" at first, but the type of thing Lyric is looking for is not mainstream, pop music.

I'm not upset, mad or anything else. I care because I want other writers to get the best information when they ask for it. I want fellow writers to do the best they can. I would care no matter who posted the quesiton. :)
