We're giving this a shot! Today is the first day of WordTrip Revival.

Any members who come to visit and wish to help get us started again, jump on in. If you're still in contact with previous members and want to let them in on this, go ahead.

At the moment, the site is not open for new members but that can be changed. The problem is that the system was overrun by bots and fake members causing thousands of non-members to be listed. It's been sliced down to a few hundred. All members with at least 10 posts who have logged on in the last ten years were left on the site.

Some old posts were archived along with old writing groups and other forum areas. It's cleaned up so we have a basic foundation to start again.

Visit the SUGGESTION BOX if you have any requests for future areas to be opened up on WT. At the moment we're just getting started and I don't want to overwhelm the site with places people might not use.

As to the look of WT... working on it! 8)

I will find out if there is a way to add a FB link to the site so you can 'like' it. :)

I'm so glad that Wordtrip has been resurrected! It's been eight years since I was active here and nearly six years ago, I created a new blog. It's still primarily creative writing, though recently my posts have centered on photography, and I'm trying a personal challenge to write at least 15 minutes every day. I can't say I've succeeded in that but I'm working on it anyway. :D I'm glad to be back and I'm looking forward to sharing the creative process with everyone!

Hey Liz... good to see you!!
I have a writing blog/site as well... seems like that's been the thing to do during the last few years. It's a nice place for me to post my writing but I don't get feed back that way. I suppose it's because posting on a blog is essentially a finished product and I doubt anyone would every say "hey... this needs work".

Keep checking back. It's a work in progress to get everyone checking back frequently. :)

I've been checking in every now and then, even if I don't say anything. My creativity seems to have died so I'm trying to revitalize that as well.

Well the revival didn’t last long did it. It’s just not the same with the creation of face book and personal blogs. People just don’t seem to want to use a forum as the main place for gathering.

And I’m as much to blame from the stand point that I lose interest over time if no one responds or takes part on a regular daily basis. I need constant feedback and that’s a lot to ask of everyone.

So I check in now once every month or so... year or so... to see if anyone is around. Alas people have moved on more than I have. From this place anyway. It’s sad really. So much fun was had here and so much writing. Life changes and things get in the way. For me it was moving from state to state, new jobs, family issues, lack of desire.

To those stuck writing like Timber, keep it up. If it’s your passion then keep that fire burning!

I am still on FB but honestly there are days I want to delete it. I have, had, a blog but stopped posting my poetry because there are so many thieves on line. Whether or not my poetry is good doesn’t matter when it comes to thieves. It’s mine and so many like to take and claim things as theirs because working at something themselves is just too hard. So I’ve removed much of my work. Still have the site and actually still have old blogs just waiting for me.

You know what it is? Everyone and their monkey’s brother’s uncle is on line now and the noise is deafening. Back in the day, when it was a handful of people, it was still a lot but people actually got to know and care about each other. Now we “like” things or add blogs to our reading list so they will in turn do the same because having 1,000,000 followers is more important than having 10 close friends.

So I go in stages of wanting to completely disconnect to wanting a blog everyone follows. I think I would love it but then again... I get bored and you can’t do that and keep followers. I mean the REAL followers not the ones who never return. I bet 50% of a persons followers are one-time visitors. Maybe the number is higher and that’s just make believe.

Oof time flies. I too still lament there isn't something quite like this format still active (and, of course I'm guilty myself), the closest I have is a GroupMe ongoing group chat and it's more about life support than creative endeavor community.

The writing forum was by far the best. Facebook just isn’t the same and often posts go unnoticed because we all select what we will and will not get notified.

That said, I did recently join a writing group to do copywriting. In the beginning stages of the learning process. Meant to do it in 2006 but time flew by, a lot

And I never get notified of posts in wordtrip even when I request it.

Ah the good ol days of getting too many notifications from wordtrip because people were posting all the time.

I have this marked but still didn’t get notified when you two posted. Oh well. Not sure how to fix that issue lol
