401 Members

Postby Wordtrip » Fri Feb 27, 2004 12:18 am

Well, it took another 8 or 9 days to get the last 100, but we've gone from 200 members a couple weeks ago to over 400 now. I want to thank you all for signing up, and especially thank all of you who are posting and making this site such a success. The community feeling is really growing here, and I'm looking forward to all that lies ahead for wordtrip.com.

Wow... and I just got my Writer's Digest magazine on Monday of this week... I wonder how many more people will join from that one issue!

I'm hoping another couple hundred :D and I'd be very happy if all of our new members shared us with their writing/reading friends. My goal is 1000 members this year.... which seemed very far fetched a month ago, but now it might just happen.

Yes--I'd LOVE to have more posting members (hear me, all you lurkers out there?)

BOOK REVIEWS are an excellent, easy way to post--and they really contribute to the community.

The article is a part of the Inkwell and does not mention who wrote the article. Here's what the article says:

A Fun site that's good for you, too

Go ahead. Take a moment to procrastinate with WordTrip.com, a guilty pleasure that's actually good for you writer's soul. Just be careful. This Web site is so packed with writing forums - covering nearly every aspect of the writing life - that you may forget your work altogether.

Billing itself as "a community for readers, writers, poetrs, teachers, students, parents and anybody else who loves words," WordTrip even offers your writing group its own chat room, set up for your group's members only. If you're not a member of a writing group, there's still penty to see and do: You can chime in with folks discussing their favorite novels, selling used writing goods or debating the basics of the writing craft. Additional fun stuff includes "random plot points," a feature that offers up a smorgasbord of quick ideas desinged to kick-start your imagination.

I just found out about this site by reading writers digest, so maybe I'm 402!!! I haven't gotten too far in it yet but from the looks of it I know it's very informative. I've been writing for at least 10 years and I've written two first drafts of novels that kind of lost their way but now I"m on my third and I have good feelings about it!! I look forward to posting parts for critique.

Welcome to wordtrip Patti... I'm sure you will get a lot of information here that you'll find helpful with your writing (and some information to just make you laugh).

Let me know if you need any help getting around as things are growing left and right and I don't want you to get lost (like I have before). :)

Welcome!

Welcome Patti... I think you're number 408 or 409 actually. Glad to have you here... you've got two whole first drafts more than I do so... congrats on sticking with it THAT far.

Of course I'm on my way to 2000 and wonder what kind of gift that gives a girl.
