Love Hurt, Love Johnny,

After 35-40 years of attempting to play the guitar, it was only when Rick Rubin's American Recordings put out the four, or is it now fve, Johnny Cash CD's, that I took the time to learn to play songs other than my own.

"Hurt" (NIN) was the first, then "Rowboat" and "Sea of Heartbreak" - then "Won't Back Down" (Petty).

Thank God for Rick Rubin to bring back and give Johnny complete freedom before he died. And Trent Reznor ( self-important little twirp) amazed me by crediting Johnny with co-writing "Hurt," even though he changed just one word many years after reznor wrote the thing. I guess because Johnny's version is so much better, and Johnny actually went there and was hurt so many times.

Johnny Cash is great, so thanks a lot Jillstar,

Can't you hear the writing in the air? Ronnie James Dio (RIP)
