Thanks, purty! Haven't seen many posts by you of late. Nice to know you're still checking in. As for Joy, be bold. Let her know you're around...what have you got to lose??

Hey, I've been posting stories in my own group. They've been collecting fair amount of applause. I'll mail them to you and then if you've got time on your hands you can go through them.

I'll try to be bold. Actually a lot's on stake. I'm in India, which is still a somewhat reserved (coy actually) community. If I fail my classmates are going to make folktales out of this small adventure. ( you expect that of a 20 years old? No, maybe but then again that's how I am. )

BEING
I found solace in little things...
turning leaves, wind-song in reeds,
and the quiet voices of love.
nothing is ever simply Yes or No. There's always a But...

Who can stop the rain
or know tomorrow
before the morning's dawn?

I like "Being". "Question", no so much.

"Being" was very evocative.

Yeah, sometimes the words just aren't there. Or they push you in a certain direction with their word list and being a non-conformist, I don't go.

EYE OF THE BEHOLDER
Even bouquets of
prickly thistle,
crests like trumpets,
are bursts of color
in spring.

OK, I feel weird critiquing your stuff, but I think this one would read better if you started with "Crested like trumpets" (are trumpets crested?) and then did the rest like it is.

Good thinking! But crest...ed would have gone over 20 pieces. (I don't count the titles in and don't put them on p.coN.)
And no, I don't think that trumpets are crested in the literal sense :-D but thistle tops (crests) flare out kind of like the end of a trumpet so.....
And I'm still waiting for YOUR PIM sally, Mudge.
And I'm happy to have you critique. I ain't poifick by any means and all opinions and suggestions are welcome and appreciated.

FAITH
Whatever comes, I start again.
A voice inside
wills me to journey on and let
love be my guide.

AMBIENT LIGHT
Flickering candles defied the night,
awakened our love, before
we blew them out with soft laughter.

Have NO idea why I titled it thusly.

I liked the word list today, so I junked the 20-piece rule.

CHILDHOOD BEACH

By the water's edge, we sat
awash in wave-song and
the scent of brine. We found
tiger bones and dragon feathers,
horses' ears and shell fragments
colored like iris, reflecting
down the sweet, bright
eons of dream-time.
nothing is ever simply Yes or No. There's always a But...

Love it...love the word selection you've chosen. I know I would have used most of the same words that you used.

Ok, smarty pants...it was after midnight and the new word list was up. I would have liked to try the word list with dragons, etc. But, alas...it was not to be...

I hear the river's voice
rushing away to the sea,
a rich song of waters
carrying rainbows home.

I saw the silhouette
of an angel praying
or was it only a cloud
whispering at Heaven's door?

Love that came as rockets
died softly, turning
every word to stone,
desire to dust.
nothing is ever simply Yes or No. There's always a But...

My Dream Journey

Wheeling in shadows,
ascending through mystery
into silver starlight,
riding the wind I go,
buoyant and free.
nothing is ever simply Yes or No. There's always a But...
