Bess, have you noticed the word lists haven't been so great lately??

ON ALIEN SHORES
I found their cacophony
meaningless as stone
but laughter speaks warmly
in every language.
nothing is ever simply Yes or No. There's always a But...

I have a friend who wouldn't miss Idol. I've never watched it.
Forgot to post today's. (title not included in word count...obviously haha)

IN A MANDARIN'S GARDEN
Wind like a whir of wings
caressed a Celadon turtle,
leaves of jade and
flowers of shell and bone.
nothing is ever simply Yes or No. There's always a But...

AUTUMN STROLL
Alone, I scrunch through
rivers of falling leaves,
eyes filled with city lights
burning yellow in the
twilight streets.
nothing is ever simply Yes or No. There's always a But...

Don't know why everything is suggesting autumn lately. It isn't even spring yet! :-D

Autumn shadow beckons,
trails its misty touch,
changes each day
with its pied smile.
nothing is ever simply Yes or No. There's always a But...

All French words today! But I cobbled some together anyway.

FANTASMES
O, magic ballet!
Fantastic versions
of monsters and demons
dance in exalted
splendour.
nothing is ever simply Yes or No. There's always a But...

WINTER NIGHT
Blue-silver moon
waxing toward full
and the wolves' high song
becomes life's
throbbing cry.
nothing is ever simply Yes or No. There's always a But...

Well, i COULD have said ululating, but the words weren't there. :-D You have to go with what you're given which isn't usually much. Besides, one of the words that define throbbing is vibrating, so I figured I could get away with it. Whaddya want for 20 pieces out of the pile..the complete works of Shakespeare??

Places in the heart are
like a desert of stone,
hard, hungering, without
the water of love.

Grant me the grace
to know myself
and when I don't,
to wing it.

I challenge Mudge to write a poem using the words: ululating, tweak, and spiffy! :-P Maybe that'll teach him some respect for decent, hardworking sensitive artistes like Mlou. :-P

I think I'll put that on on a sticky and put it on my computer so I can read it everyday...next to the serenity prayer.

JOY
Life shines,
so rich in
laughter and love,
I feel as if I
swallowed butterflies.

Great work Mlou, Even though I'm writing little poetry, I do drop in from time to time to see what you write. To say that it's beautiful would be an understatement.

JOY- happens to be the name of the girl whom I have got a crush upon. But she chooses to ignore me. :( Your poem certainly evoked some emotions here :D .
Either write something worth reading or do something worth writing.
