Got it, but was unable to do it. I sent what are probably cryptic instructions for you to be able to do it yourself.

Maybe CP can make it a future Non-fiction book of the month (though I think he is carrying over this month's only because he hasn't found one).

Yep, they were cryptic!
Hey, good thinking, blick!

It's incredibly easy if I could show you...

Am I a weird writer if I don't really care if I ever get published?

I write for myself primarily. Yeah, virtually everything I've written most people have told me to submit or that they liked it, but I haven't felt that "tug" yet... And weirder yet, I don't value feedback on "publishability" as much as on how much you enjoyed it. All of my writing is for me, yet I choose to share it (for free) here...

Maybe one day I'll be bitten by the bug to actually submit something, but as of now, no such emotions exist...

I feel the same way. I don't want to be published yet but I'd love to be able to support myself as a writer. That's only because I'd rather be doing something I love all day long then something I hate just to pay the bills. But when I think of all the marketing and work that goes into getting published that's not spent time writing I think I don't want to be published and that the day job is not so bad right now.

I do not write to publish. I write because I enjoy writing. ...you're not the only one.

So, I just came up with a brief inspiration, the opening scene of a story (not sure yet what the story is about, but for a change there is character development instantly at the beginning):

“I love you, too.”

The words seemed awkward as they came out of Todd’s mouth.

“Bye,” he said and hung up the phone.

It was only in recent years he’d begun expressing emotions to his dad, and the words still seemed hollow. He meant them, that’s for sure. Perhaps they seemed hollow because they didn’t come close to expressing just how much he did love his dad. More likely, though, they seemed hollow from lack of use over the years and Todd’s inexperience in dealing with emotions.

Interesting beginning. You'll need to think about where it's going.

Ugh, I'm in a weird mood. A bad one. I don't *want* to write AND I have no ideas floating around either... This hasn't happened since I started the writing kick in '92...

No one's forcing you to write are they? :? If not then I wouldn't worry about it too much. When the feeling comes back where you want to write I'm sure your subconsious will step up and say "look what I've been doing while you were away" and you'll have lots to write. You still want to read though right? If you didn't want to write AND didn't want to read I'd be worried.

Don't worry about it, PW. This is blick's Mood #57. He's got lots of them. :-D

I think I've discovered that my most creative stories are written in first person.

Which I guess means PW won't read them once I'm published!

I read GOOD 1st pov which means I'll be reading yours! I've enjoy everything thing of yours I've read. I look forward to more. And I'll even pay for the copy instead of being a mouch and asking for one for free.

(btw good job last month on your word count)

Okay Anblick What is up with you? I thought you wanted a 2-7 DAY window on our little tag. I didn't know that translates to 6-8 HOURS military time. :) You're either psychic or you're using some top secret military devise to know what I'm going to write before I do.

Nah, I'm just a quick thinker some times, besides I warned you that the 2-7 day window would probably be less with me!

I am so jealous of your quick thinking. I can think up things relatively quick it's the excution of those ideas that really tie me up. I get stuck just trying to figure out how to get those ideas onto paper. But you're pushing me and that's good.

Well, it's hard to describe, but (especially with tags) usually the idea isn't a concept, but the whole scene...

PW, Anby has to be a quick thinker, he's guarding a country remember? Can't be stuck on stupid when you're guarding a country.

"Hmm, what does this button do? Oh ... Well I guess we didn't really need Montana after all."
