Mrs. Mudge won't LET me do laundry. She prefers to ruin my shirts on her own.

My mom sounds like your Mrs. Mudge.

I always found the laundromat oddly soothing... all that swish-swishing going on all at once. It only became worrisome when I noticed some of the stuff people LEFT at the laundromat

But yeah, X... the lugging thing... never fun.

Now that you mention it Delaney... I rather find the laundromat soothing at times. I suppose it could partly be because I don't have to go...

The last time I went was when I first moved here and didn't own a washer/dryer yet. I founds a laundromat located near a bar, a car wash and some old rundown shops that were long since closed down. They had an "arcade" (if you can call it that) in the laundromat that was scattered between corners and hallways and other odd places that had the oldest most unpopular games I had ever seen... and half of them were either turned off, broken down or the screen was hazy.

I sat in a room with the dryers and listened to the constant tumbling along with something on the TV that I don't think I was even listening to.

I wonder if that's how they brainwash people... stick them in a room full of dryers and let them get nice and relaxed.

the laundromat has lots of pluses
if i did my laundry at home (if i had a washer/dryer that is), it would take hours and hours to do it. not at the laundromat
it's great for people watching

but the lugging thing, again, is a pain in the rear.

so i was driving to work this morning and this song came on the radio. ive heard it before but never really paid attention to the lyrics. but today for some reason I did. and it made me think of someone important to me. :)

"Hey There Delilah"

Hey there Delilah
What's it like in New York City?
I'm a thousand miles away
But girl tonight you look so pretty
Yes you do
Times Square can't shine as bright as you
I swear it's true

Hey there Delilah
Don't you worry about the distance
I'm right there if you get lonely
Give this song another listen
Close your eyes
Listen to my voice it's my disguise
I'm by your side

Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
What you do to me

Hey there Delilah
I know times are getting hard
But just believe me girl
Someday I'll pay the bills with this guitar
We'll have it good
We'll have the life we knew we would
My word is good

Hey there Delilah
I've got so much left to say
If every simple song I wrote to you
Would take your breath away
I'd write it all
Even more in love with me you'd fall
We'd have it all

Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me

A thousand miles seems pretty far
But they've got planes and trains and cars
I'd walk to you if I had no other way
Our friends would all make fun of us
and we'll just laugh along because we know
That none of them have felt this way
Delilah I can promise you
That by the time we get through
The world will never ever be the same
And you're to blame

Hey there Delilah
You be good and don't you miss me
Two more years and you'll be done with school
And I'll be making history like I do
You'll know it's all because of you
We can do whatever we want to
Hey there Delilah here's to you
This ones for you

Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
What you do to me.

update: not going to mass next weekend. not sure what i'm doing. i may go up to connecticut and hit the beach or something. not sure.

and my biggest fear about my shower just happened. I slipped and fell. I mean really fell. There are those sticky things in my shower and I always worried that they didn't provide enough skid for me. But they seemed to be working. Not today.

oh and i'm fine. dont worry.

had a weird experience. all of the sudden there was no water!
and i called the landlord and stuff (he didn't answer) and like 20 minutes later? i had water again.

was pissing me off because i hadn't showered yet today. so if the water hadn't come back, i would have had to go to the gym to shower. and i didnt want to go to the gym today. lol

so i hopped in the shower as soon as I saw there was water in case it stopped again! haha

that's why like me you should always have some water on the side so at any time you can give yourself a sponge bath........
