Wow...it's been too long since I've posted on this blog. What have I been up to since December 31, 2007? Well, for most of 2008, I worked two jobs. It was fun until it quit being fun. I quite my part-time job this February and prayed for the Lord to show me a way to make up for that missing income. And God is good. I was promoted to an awesome position in April. I can honestly say that I love my job. Something that I haven't been able to say in almost a decade. Since I am working only one job these days, I've had time to go back to reading. I only finished TWO books in 2008. I started a lot more than 2, but just didn't have the energy to finish any of them. I was able to start reading again. This made me want to start writing again. Then, I realized how much I missed this website. So..I'M BACK!!!

For me, watching golf on tv is like watching paint dry. They have the same level of excitement. And I suck playing Wii golf too. :(
Is this my reality or yours?

So, tonight was a milestone in my life...a truly monumental occurrence happened. I now know how Susan Lucci felt the night she won her Daytime Emmy. I finally bowled over 100...in fact, I bowled a 111. It was truly exhilarating. I bowl on a company league, and bowled almost every week last year. I came close a couple of times to cracking that 100 mark, but it always eluded me. But not tonight!!! I did it!!! The streak is over. I am freed!

So my normal Tuesday night activity just got cancelled...woo woo!!! This means that I get one evening this week to myself. Yea!!! I got a new computer over the weekend, so I think I'm going to move all of my writing folders over, and take it for a writing test spin. Yea!!! So happy!!! I need more nights off.

I went to the movies this afternoon, and saw a preview for Where the Wild Things Are. Can't wait...so excited.

Hmmm... I wonder if it will be "good enough" to match up the feeling I had reading it when I was young.

They ran a "making of" the movie prior to the start of all of the previews, and Maurice Sendak was very much involved in the making of the movie...so I hope so. It is one of my all-time favorite books, and love that I have nephews to read it to now.

The history buff side of me is flipping in love with "Brad Meltzer's Decoded." Anyone else watching this show? Just finished watching the episode on Confederate gold and almost through with the D.B. Cooper episode. Great show!!!

So...what have I been up to over the past year? I wish I could say it's been super exciting, but I've been working. Last year was just busy, busy. I'm not complaining, because business is good. But I didn't get many of my personal life goals accomplished. I am making a change this year. Luckily, I am getting better at achieving a work/life balance, and making reading and writing more of a priority in my life. I have been studying the craft of novel writing and plugging away at a novel. I also want to work on personal essays and non-fiction writing. Hoping to share some of my work with you all very soon.
