It's official. Publisher's Weekly ran the deal blurb today and it was picked up by Publishers Marketplace as well.

Thanks y'all. 2009 is a long time to wait, but at least I have time to write the next one.

Keep us informed of progress. I'm looking forward to reading the book. Will any pre-pub excerpts be going out?

As far as pre-pub stuff, I'd love to post the first few chapters on my site, but it's kind of up to my publisher. I have blurbs from other authors already, but I'm not sure when I can post those.

Either way, I'll make sure Charles and Co. gets an ARC when they're available.

I've been told Spring/Summer 2009--leaning towards Spring.

Here's my blurb from Publishers Weekly:

The story is set in Seattle and told in alternating time periods—when a Chinese boy falls in love with a Japanese girl during the Japanese internment in 1942, and later in 1986 when the belongings of Japanese families are discovered in the basement of a condemned hotel and he must confront the choices he made years ago.

I have some blurbs from other authors I'll be able to post soon...

Wonderful news. Congratulations!

Great title too ... I can not wait to read it. I've read a few novels set during the detainment of Japanese-Americans lately ... it is a fascinating subject.
