Hi all, I'm new here and just wanted to introduce myself. I feel a bit out-of-place though. I feel kind of young to be here. How old are most of the people on here? I sort of feel like a little kid trying to play on a big kids playground. :?: Is that a dumb idea?
I stumbled across wordtrip and thought it looked like a pretty cool place. I like to write, and i love to read. I like to read most things, although usually not the sappy love stories.

nichole - not sure how young you are but welcome regardless! we are all young at heart, does that help? we have a few younger writers here and there. what do you like to write? short stories? novel length? poetry?

Welcome! You're never too young to write, or too old for that matter.

Thanks everyone! I didn't really mean everyone sounded old...just adults. i like to write short stories, a few really sucky poems, and i guess i like to write novels. most of the time though, i just end up writing a chapter or two into the novel and then i stop. that's not good. :) i'll probably check out some challenges soon. they seem pretty cool.

Hi, Nicole! Are you a working person or in school? We are all kinds here...some in school, some working, some retired...but all with a shared interest in writing and publishing. Some published, some journalists, some still trying to break in.
Do try the challenges and get your feet wet. :-D

Welcome Nichole! I joined the wt at the age of 14 and everyone made sure that I was a part of the writing world. Three years later everyone is still accepting of me and my writing has improved dramatically.
I am sure you will find a spot here.

A belated welcome do our latest fledgling...now worries about age here my dear...we welcome all...I myself won't admit to being about 2000 years of age, that way I look dang good for my age..wink..

as for the range we have reader/writers as young as 13 and then the ancient ones...well we have several fighting for that title...but since I am immortal I stay out of that battle...

so you say you write sucky poems..there is no such thing..just an unseasoned poet....lol...do you like horror? Try writing me a halloween sonnet in this thread...

http://www.wordtrip.com/phpBB2/viewtopi ... 398#197398

Can't write a sonnet? how about a poem just in time for halloween....just start writing and see what comes out...you never know, you may surprise yourself.
