Hi all! I'm really new to the whole forum thing...(and you can blame my good friend Del for getting me in here :-D )

I'm 22, and I've been an 'aspiring author' since I was old enough write...never been published, heck, never finished a story! I'm hoping to really challenge myself and get to meet other not-so-confident wanna-be-author's like me. :D

There's quite a bit of that going around here... :)

Thanks for the welcomes! I'm allready starting to love the forums...now if only I had more time to actually get online! *sigh* So many words, so little time.

Those challenges do look rather interesting, I'm definately gonna give em a try when I have more time. For now...unfortunately...I must be off to work.

Thanks again! :)

Welcome MV . . . based on your site name, there . . . I'm going to go out on a limb and say you write westerns, right?

Hi there. I'm new myself, so we can explore the site together. Ever read "Sunshine" by Robin McKinley? I loved that vampire story.

A good vampire story eh? You've hit on my true weakness lol...I'm obsessed with vampires. I'll definately have to check into that one! Thanks!

I'm currently in the middle of reading three different series...(more like waiting for the next releases to come out) One of which is a great vampire story by Stephenie Meyer. The first book is called Twilight, you should check that one out, I love it.

OK, how about a vampire story set in the Old West?

"Drac, this here town ain't biggenuff fer the two of us . . . I'ma givin' you until sunrise to git outta town!"

Maybe?

lol That could really be interesting, though I don't think I'd be capable of writing anything like that without laughing...I wonder if it's been done before...

Some more "f's" should be added to give the idea of fake vampire's teeth.

Welcome to Wordtrip MV (is that what we've shortened your name to?)... hope you have lots of fun. We have tons of posts about writing, etc. Sometimes you have to search for the older ones, but it's worth it.

Oh, of course. Sorry.
Welcome MV! I am the one who foams at the mouth. Some of my things are a bit inconsistent with the activities here. They say that, among other things, I am unruly  ; but fortunately they give me my medicine and thus I am able to go on. :-D

I have read and loved a vampire story set in present-time Texas, featuring a good-ole-boy vampire named Earl and his sidekick, a werewolf named Duke. See link below.

I based my own werewolf story a bit on Duke, my werewolf was a flannel-shirted construction worker in rural Michigan.

Sadly haven't had time for much of anything over the past year or so, hopefully that'll all change soon :)
