Hi all,

My name is Theresa, and I live in Groton, CT. :)

I'd like to think I've got a good sense of humor, I love being
outdoors, can't live without my music, love to travel, and enjoy
writing (personal and freelance) when I have the time. While I know
many people, I only have a few very close friends that I trust
implicitly. My family is very important to me. I have lost several
family members over the years - either by death, or lack of contact
for one reason or another - and have come to realize that in the end,
family is all you really have and all you can ever really count on. I
never look back in regret, because the past cannot be changed. What's
done is done, and life is too short to dwell on those things that you
can't control. I can only hope that I've learned - and will continue
to learn - from my mistakes, and that my legacy will be the example
of a life well-lived. "Dream as if you will live forever, Live as if
you will die tomorrow."

More info on me, if you're interested...

Favorite things to do: Camping, hiking, fishing, kayaking, scuba
diving, swimming, dancing, singing, photography, travel, new
adventures, skiing, writing, quilting, cooking, music, books, live
theater, movies, family... the list goes on... let's just say, I'm
not boring! "As you grow older, you'll find the only things you
regret are the things you didn't do." ~ Zachary Scott

Music: All kinds... pretty much everything except rap and opera. LOVE

Movies: All kinds... in order of preference, more or less: sci-fi,
comedy, thriller, action/adventure, romance, drama, horror,
historical, documentary... anything that holds my attention. Stupid
movies are out - like "comedies" that just aren't funny, or some of
the "B" movies that are worth the media they're recorded on. Never
got into British humor much, either. Also not big on some of the
horror flicks that are just gratuitous gore with no plot.

Television: Local and world news, sci-fi shows, the new Commander in
Chief with Geena Davis, the Discovery Channel, the Science Channel,
HGTV, etc. A light sit-com like Everybody Loves Raymond, According to
Jim, or old re-runs of Friends or Home Improvement are good when
totally brain-dead for the day.

Books: Many of the classics, books on writing, spirituality, Dean
Koontz novels... any really good story that you just can't put down!

Heroes: There are a number of people (living and dead) that I think
are absolutely amazing, and truly admire. But a hero to me is someone
that is not only a great role model, but one who also does or has
done something above and beyond the call of duty for others in need,
without expecting anything in return. To act selflessly out of love
for another human being, for the sole purpose of saving their life or
making their lives better in some way, to me that is the person that
deserves to be called "a hero".

Hi Theresa! I'm also from Connecticut. I live in Trumbull, work in Westport and go to grad school in Hamden (at Quinnipiac). Yes, that's lots of driving. haha.

Welcome to Wordtrip!

Fabulous background info and bio for all of us. What types of writing do you do? You said personal and freelance, but not what type.

There's lots of stuff to do around here with writing prompts, the reading forums (including our book club) and a blog section. Plus all the people are really nice and don't bite. . .well, not hard anyways. ;)

Again, welcome!

Hi, Theresa....a person after my own heart! In some respects, anyway. :D I'm not very athletic at this point in my life but do love Dean Koontz, no matter what anyone says. And scifi types, as well as adventure, thrillers. Also love music.
I found that out about family long ago and treasured them but have hardly any left now, sadly.
So what do you write? Do you take a stab at poetry? If so, be sure to check out our weekly Poetry Tuesday challenges. Welcome, have fun!
