Hello There
I just joined the site and thought I'd come by and introduce myself. My name is Rachael and I'm currently attending the University of Texas Pan American, working towards a BA in English and Public Relations.
For the most part, I have limited myself to short stories, poetry, and articles, but I am trying to branch out into something larger.
I look forward to meeting all of you and getting to be active on this forum. Good day to all!

What is it with penguins on this board??
Um . . . Hi, Wrath . . . welcome to Wordtrip. You'll find all sorts of interesting threads here . . . some helpful, some less-helpful, some just plain fun. Feel free to poke around and join in the insanity.
You a Kerouac fan, or just like the quote?
English AND Public Relations? You must be a Gemini . . .
Happy Wordtripping.

Hehe, gotta love the penguins! My room is full of them.
Anyway, yes I am a Kerouac fan and yes, I am a Gemini. Very insightful, Mudge.
And thank you all for the warm welcome.

/welcome, w.o.p! Kerouac, eh? He's from my town where they either love him or can't stand him. I worked with his wife, while the great man wandered. She worshipped him. He, um, played the field.
Hope you'll enjoy our poetry and other challenges. They help to get one in gear sometimes.

Literature: The Truth disguised as Fiction
Public Relations: Fiction disguised as Truth.
Classic contradiction. Has "Gemini" written all over it.

Well, I'm always in favor of Penguin invasions as long as they aren't of the Batman variety!

Hey, I never said I was miserable . . . I happen to think penguins are cute.
But I HAVE seen "Batman Returns" a number of times . . . so maybe I'm a little nervous.

have the penguin people seen the march of the penguins yet
Twice, actually. I thought it was done exceptionally well for a documentary of the type.

Watch the movie "Madagascar" and leave the thermostat alone!

Hahaha, I love that part.
"Skippah, should we tell them the boat is out of gas?"
"Nah, smile and wave boys, smile and wave."
Or something along those lines.

I was referring more to the part where the penguins actually made it to Antarctica and noted 'this sucks'!
