Thanks Mur!

Postby Jeffrey Allan Boman » Tue Oct 25, 2005 8:22 am

I originally checked this out thanks to Mur Lafferty mentioning it in her latest I Should Be Writing podcast. This is indeed a place I can find of use!

I'm both a science fiction fan and so far a hopeful published author in the genre. So far I've been successful in the RPG field, with 4 publications (3 for charity books, 1 paying) this year so far.

I also write a newsletter in an APA (Amateur Press Association) that I founded 15 years ago, a monthly e-mail newsletter... and I'm going to try for my 3rd successful NaNoWriMo in a row - this time in a genre I've never tried before: Young Adult urban fantasy.

When writing is your full-time job, you end up filling your plate quickly!

Welcome to Wordtrip Jeffrey! Glad you found us (glad Mur mentioned us too :D). Just wanted to say hi before I left to do some of that procrastinating she mentioned this week .

Hi Jeffrey (or do you prefer Jeff??) Welcome to Wordtrip!
You should check out Novel Writing Week (which we're in the middle of) as a warm-up to NaNo, which a lot of us will also be doing. Glad you found us!

Either or is fine. I used the short form (Jeff) for many years... but ever since I started to use the pen-name of Boman Allan Jeffries, my full name has made sense to me. :D

I saw that, but I'll pass this year... I don't want to burn out my writing energy before NaNo.

I tried NaNoWriiMo last year and peetered out after the first week and a half. I felt like I wasn't in control of my own writing...oh well. I admire people who can do it and succeed, I'm just not sure I've got it in me.

Oh and WELCOME TO WORDTRIP!!!

Welcome, Jeffrey. Always happy when someone new climbs on the bandwagon. We have lots going here. Know you'll find something intriguing...hope so, anyway. :-D

I felt intimidated before my first one in 2003; I'd never written that many words.

Since then my confidence to make it grew, which is why I broke 50k with 4 days to spare... then continued until I wrote "The End" 2 days later.

Are you working on something new or something that's already in progress? 8)

Starting from scratch. It's what I've done each year.
