masterpiece

brush in hand,
colors flow on paper
no boundary of thought
no sense of purposeful direction,
but puddles of tincture
pooling from chambers of her soul,
(tangerine stems across the page)
startling volumes of pigment
to hide the emptiness.

as do i.... sometimes it really does help exorcise those "demons" - and sometimes it just gets me to a place where i can at least cope with life instead of wallowing in feeling sorry for myself for not having done all that i had hoped.

Good challenges Mlou! I think I need to do as you do and write before I read everyone's contributions....

Memory

passion, once stirred,
flames crimson then
quietly subsides,
glowing embers cool
turning ashen,
disappearing in the wind.

Is this the type of thing you were aiming for in #3? Not quite what I was thinking but I like it! :) Limericks are always a fun one as a challenge. I was thinking more along the lines of taking it and making it into something more somber without the cutesy rhyme scheme. however, that said, that's t...

i said goodbye to him,
then cursed his name,
with each breath, angry and tired,
the bridge between what was
and what is, too time worn,
too weary to continue
plodding along day after endless day,
finally realizing there was nothing left
i burned the path behind
so i could move forward.

TUESDAY POETRY CHALLENGE - Week of 02/17/09

Another week, another 3 challenges to hopefully stimulate your mind. 1. #1

Reflection

courage lined face,
soft sighs breathed
though bloom prevailed,
not eclipsed by pain
she passed uneasy in the night.

compelled to remember,
her image and mine,
mingle in my mirror
as if she lives on
and yet tastes life's sweetness.

I meant that too, but the Tramp had no human family, did he? Or am I wrong? pretty sure that the tramp was an orphan. i do find it odd that fairy tales and nursery rhymes are so awful and morbid. how about rock a bye baby... you remember what happens? i mean we used to sing this or have it sung to ...
