Anticipation before boarding
A gigantic ship
A pendulum
Reaching towards the heavens
Cotton candy stuffed into face
Before the ride
The gate lifted
Hoping on like a frog
Strapped down by a belt
The ride begins
My stomach rumbles
My friend wet

Support

Heavy head sinks
Leaving an impression
Rolling uncomfortably
Flipping the pillow
To the cold side
Shaking isolated to the sea of sheets
My pillow a buoy.

Fly-Fishing(crit welcomed with open arms)

Piecing together a light, wooden rod On the rocky banks of a cool river; Nestled between mountains, a land of god Waist deep in fast-paced water, I shiver; My fly bright orange with speckled hair rests A duck sound as I release my green line, I have caught something, oh it is my vest I release again...

Play-Doh

I am compact A hard, rounded shape Sitting on a cold, desolate shelf I jostle Then chubby hands Open me Revealing light in a darkened world Comfort as I am part of something Warm hands mold me, Until it begins to choke me. Forcing me to be something I Am not Throwing me Chewing me Mixing me with for...

Frog

There goes a little green frog
He came out of the fog
Hopping pad to pad
Pissed or in other words really mad
For he was being chased by a dog

I am on page 200 in Grapes of Wrath so decided to put my feelings on the book in a cinquain.

Notes on Grapes of Wrath

Farmer
Filthy but clean
Tilling the fields of life
Frustration murders good intent
Peasant

My Rose

Love blossoms
Like the passion fueled rose
Watered with sincerity
Pouring from within
A waterfall
Dedicated to our love
Relationships have thorns
But your love lets
These thorns be dull

I suppose I will take a stab at this since I was just thinking of a love poem in my head. But a quick question- does the poem need to be written in English or could it be in French with a translation?

#2 So, I am not sure what everyone will think about my belief of love, but I thought it was appropriate for the challenge. Well I have finally found time to make it back on the site. Summer is here and I am ready to write(after my job of course). As much as I hate my job and the people there anger me my mom said I would find inspiration for characters. This is true to some extent and it got me thinking about my writing....

Mudge is right. My parents are my biggest fans. I actually ran another novel idea by my mom last night at midnight and she really was supportive even though I knew she just wanted to go to sleep. I really find it amazing how supportive my mom is with my writing because she is a completely different ...

This poem will be published in our high school's literary magazine, but I am still in the dark as to why. The Feather Laying next to a bank The sun’s reflection blinded me Intrigued I walked over To investigate Beauty flew into my face Soft to the touch Gray and white Part of this bird Left behind B...

A Creative Writing Assignment(crit ok)

So as the subject line states this is a creative writing assignment. The assignment was to write a love poem, but we were not allowed to use words like love, passion, lust, lips, eyes, hair, smile, ocean, candles, and you get the idea. The Hasty Generalization of Love Circular reasoning, Swamps my m...

School is great! I actually placed first in my DECA event, so I will be representing Montana at Nationals. Nationals are in Florida this year, which is exciting. Also I was selected for this leadership conference in the summer out of all the kids in my school, which means for a week in July I will b...

I basically got nowhere with Nanowrimo because I got busy, excuses I know. I have just finished reading the Awakening by Kate Chopin, actually I can honestly say with a clear conscious that I only read ten pages and of those ten pages I absolutely hated it. I did not read Killer Angels either and en...
