I have no memory at all which, while it makes re-runs seem fresh and new on TV, makes it hard to edit a full novel. Especially one that I have become so intimate with. So I think I'm going to have to outline loosely at the beginning so I don't get more lost and confused than I already am when editing.

There is an appointed District Attorney who oversees the handling of cases within the judicial district, but the Deputy DA's handle most of the courtroom work. Some are assigned to county court (usually newer attorneys) where they cut their teeth on misdemeanor cases, before moving up to the distric...

I spent all day on Writers Market researching consumer publications to submit to. I am trying to break into a magazine with fiction articles. I came close once, but was finally told that "You have a nice touch with humor...Ultimately, your manuscript does not stand out far enough above the crowd of ...

I've been winging it. I always thought that if I had to follow an outline it would become boring to write, which translates into boring to read. However, I've recently revisited the idea of a loose outline because I've been running into serious writer's block. Also, the novel I've started has become...

I like a good resolution. I nurture it and let it grow all year long until its ripe and ready by the last week of December. Then I race around the house trying to fulfill the resolution so I can start again January 1st.

...And then I went to grad school. I don't write "literary" fiction. Which is what they want in grad school. My "sticking to my guns" that served me so well in udergrad? Not so popular anymore. I basically spent two years getting hammered every time I submitted a story and told I wasn't any good. T...

Re: rantings from a caffeine deprived individual. Im ok.Rea

Went to walmart instead of the gym this morning. Wanted to get son's bike and check out the Littlest Petshop for daughter; whom I might add, is going on 10 and insists this thing isn't too young for her. Oh well. It's cute, but they are out...looks like it is online or nothing. I find a bike for so...

I hope everyone's Thanksgiving went well. I spent some time in a cabin in the mountains and I gotta say, It was a great way to junp start the Christmas season. Time to moan: Here's what gets me. For all the loyal followers of FOD, I wish to say thank you for your loyalty and support, but there was just too much demand for the fruit of the day, and I couldn't keep up. What started out as a venture to bring enlightenment to the masses became a burden I could no longer bear. It was growing bey...

I just found freeware that's a basic submission tracker that is pretty cool. It's from the UK, so you kind of have to learn to drive on the left side of the road (you'll see what I mean), but after a bit I understood it and it works really well. The best thing is that its free. It tracks publishers,...

I liked it a lot, Luminosity. I'm not a poet, but as a reader, I thought you captured the feelings of a nightmare really well.

I especially liked the last 3 lines.

Very Halloweenie poem...perfect for the season.
