If we keep getting poets in here they're going to have to change the site-name to "PoetryTrip.com". Mlou, are you out recruiting agai...

First, a disclaimer...I'm not a poet (not a good one anyway) and I don't read much poetry..except for the poetry on this site (there are TERRIFIC poets here who can crit much better than I), so the crit is coming from a novice's perspective. in other words, feel free to say to yourself (note I said ...

Way to go! You give the same advice I've read in several books on writing and publishing from well known authors.

I'm happy that you broke through and proved to us that perseverence really does pay off.

AWSOME! :D  :congrats: :po:

That "listening" dialog touches a nerve. But here, it's the other way around. No matter what I say, he says, "Hmmm?" I don't know whether he really doesn't hear me, or my having to repeat it gives him time to consider his answer! What say you men out there? It beats the awkward silence that hangs i...

I don't know about the "best" choice. I think you misspelled "f#%^" --probably a program error when you hit the submit key. The correct spelling is "frrrmp", which, according to my dictionary is defined as "the noise a lady makes after indulging in day old bean dip" (I think maybe MY worst sentence ...

JB, I wasn't comparing vehicle makes. I was just curious about the recall. I actually went with the Ford because it looks better than the Chevy in my opinion. All 3 major brands of American trucks are built well and have very little differences. An, wow. Someone must own stock in an American car com...

Yes, I've read the magazine before and I definitely need to immerse myself in the business side of writing. As I submit more, I am learning the process, and I think this magazine will help. Hopefully, I will be experiencing more acceptances soon, I 'd like to see what its like to actually make some ...

I was advised that the first 5 years after you claim your writing as a business on your return, you don't have to show a profit. All expenses and deductions can be taken (I claimed my computer). AFTER 5 years has gone by, you must show a profit that exeeds what you have claimed. However, there are n...

Or hold an intervention? Griz, I gotta say, JB has been punctual with her crits and submissions in her Word Group, so it hasn't affected her writing negatively....yet... :) (but we'll be keeping an eye on her  )
