I was thinking, after reading Charles' contest poll, what genre/story type does my style fit into? I have always considered it to be Short Story, but it's ...

There could be a huge market for a hockey book...providing there's still an NHL. (sorry, I'm feeling sarcastic because I don't have any hockey to watch)

I've been getting stories ready for submission....5 sent out so far. I think of this as the shotgun method of publishing. I want to get at least 3 more out there, and then I'll feel better about the year's progress.

I have to sit back and write something fresh for a while now. :)

Little known facts about: Pomegranates- Pomegranates look more like a bush then a tree, but that is besides the point. It's for it's medicinal and edible properties that it is most known for. Egyptians held the fruit in high esteem from time immemorial. It's medicinal properties include aiding in di...

I always knew you were destined for great things, since you chose fortune, maybe I will publish something and achieve fame. Then I'll be able to still hang with you and not feel like a freeloading stepson.

(Hmmmm...not that that's such a bad idea.....)

OK. Today I WILL find markets for all 4 of my stories and get them ready to be sent out. That is my goal and I WILL achieve it. Now, for the Fruit of the Day: Kumquat- also Cumquat - Kumquats, also called kinkan, are the fruits that are produced from small evergreen trees that grow to a height of ap...

The not-so-ineffectual-after-all Pa also contributed something else the 1951 reference is the first known written instance of the word "nebbish" with its modern English sense. It might have been the last too. I like your "Word of the Day" area in your writing blog, JB. I will have to think of...

Obviously this is all YOUR fault as you didn't tell us the answer to "Guess what I'm going to be doing tomorrow?" When you leave it up to people to guess (especially writers) chaos ensures.... So, what DID you do today/tomorrow?? I thought it was implied that I was going to get to work on the busin...

I make my own memories of my childhood. Makes me forget the reality that other kids around me had cool stuff toplay with like Big Wheels and Speed Strip Racers. In an attempt to make my father feel guilty, I would sit in the living room and push pine cones around the floor while making "vroom" sound...

So how did this thread get so out of control? All of a sudden we're talking about some "Phillis" writing love songs to Alfred Hitchcock.

I didn't get any new markets listed like I wanted to do today. I will have to buckle down tomorrow and get it done.

But had he not chiseled away the marble from a solid block, we would not have the sculpture of David? :D (BTW...his name isn't Michael Angelo...it's Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni) I'm so embarrassed  . Had a discussion with KAL about the business side of writing and we decided that we really need to buckle down and start concentrating on getting in submissions, checking up on new markets, putting together and maintaining a website...etc. It would be nice to be able to just sit...
