To explain something... Feedback sites are a graduated spectrum. At the bottom you have a bunch of newbies just so thrilled that they want to grow up to be a writer this week. At the top end you have some really serious sites that are mostly concerned with getting published/produced, publicizing wha...

At one time Helium was mostly about paid reviews, especially for screenplays. And some VERY hip readers were on there, like Ken Mora and Scott the Reader, giving pro-level feeback for $50 that was far better that what some people pay many hundreds for. At this point, they seem to be just one one mor...

I found him boring, actually. I don't care for that NE suburbanite stuff.

But one thing you gotta say for the guy: he wrote movie roles for Nicholson, Cher, Sarandon, and Pfeiffer. That's pretty cool.

My strong feeling is that contests are worthless and definitley not worth paying money to enter. State lotteries are cheaper and have bigger payoffs. There is a huge industry based on hopeful writers giving people money. Instead of the other way around. It preys on the dreams and aspirations of the ...

Could also meant they couldnt' sell all their ads and had to put in some anti-smoking commercial or something.

So could also stand for "Pisspoor Service to Advertisers"

Cool post, man.

It's great to see stuff like this because much of it flies in the face of the chestnuts you see over and over on writing sites: all that caution and "shalt nots" and trite adjurations to show not tell and avoid adverbs and such.

It's a breath of fresh air.

Bummer, because I just got a pretty cool idea for a series there.
