You know, I just was thinking about my life when I joined this site and all that's happened since then. I joined WT the weekend "the boy" was off doing something with his brother. Since then, he and I broke up, I went to graduate school, I moved to New Jersey, I've had a few jobs, I was featured in ...

It's nice to see the site a little active again.

I have to admit my writing life has not been the greatest in the world these days.

I don't know if anyone else is on Spotify (and if you like music, you should be!), but this is my ever-growing random "this is what I like" playlist: http://open.spotify.com/user/jenconnic/playlist/4I079vnNxdqYzABfBqQk94 I have whittled some stuff off there, but I'm also adding stuff all the time.

If Charles hadn't pointed out that there's a party on the forum, I wouldn't have checked in to see all the activity around here lately. lol I just realized that my 9th anniversary of joining WT was last week. That's outrageous! Nine years! And while this forum can be very, very quiet at times, I'm h...

I log on for the first time in...well, awhile and there's a Mudge poem/song. And, like always, it's a good one.

Hope everything is well.

So...I've been dating this guy for a little bit now that I really, really care about (although we don't use the terms boyfriend and girlfriend for each other). OK, I love the guy. But this fall has been awful. He was on the road for three out of four weeks, and the one week he was home I was in Cali...

The site is a community of sorts. You have regional groups of people who organize write-ins and such so you can get together and write together and support each other during Nano.

I was going to. Even had a project.
But then drama invaded in my life. Not in a good place emotionally to even think about working on it.

http://jenconnic.wordpress.com/2011/09/07/the-things-etched-in-my-brain-from-911/ That's my Sept. 11 piece. It actually went through some rewrites and I had two people read it (one of my close writer friends and the guy I'm dating, who is a fellow journalist type) before I posted it. I rarely do tha...

I'm working on something for my blog about 9/11, which is really hard since I don't talk about my experiences or write about them very often. I tend to run away from the whole thing and hide than confront it. I just get very emotional because I never was able to confront my own feelings back then wh...

This was last night at 7 p.m. http://www.flickr.com/photos/jenconnic/sets/72157627558244168/ That's a block from where I live two hours before the river crested. The river is right on the other side of the road across from my street. When the river crested, some water came into the street. But it ne...

So it's been an eventful few days here in Jersey. The flooding on the Passaic River actually isn't far from where I live. Like a block or two away. I actually left before the hurricane (came back today) to avoid the potential for flooding in my neighborhood. The river has yet to crest, but we're goo...

Spooky time. I was out at Silver Sands Beach in Connecticut yesterday shooting photos between the raindrops. The beach has a sandbar that extends to Charles Island, and the sandbar is only there during low tide. High tide rolls in, you can get stuck or even swept away. I took photos of the signs, et...

I completely agree with you X!!! It's as if everything crumbled at once. Now we just have the few of us who "pop in" from time to time to see if anything interesting is happening or to just check up with those we miss. :? Well, how can we fix it? If we got the place a little action again (even if i...
